Plasmonically enhanced photoluminescence of monolayer MoS<sub>2</sub> via nanosphere lithography-templated gold metasurfaces

Abstract We demonstrate a simple, cost-effective method to enhance the photoluminescence intensity of monolayer MoS 2 . A hexagonal symmetric Au metasurface, made by polystyrene nanosphere lithography and metal coating, is developed By using nanospheres different sizes, localized surface plasmon resonances metasurfaces can be effectively tuned. transferring onto signal significantly enhanced up 12-fold over square-centimeter area. The large-area, fabrication technique could pave new way for plasmon-enhanced light-mater interactions atomically thin two-dimensional materials.
